Drug and Alcohol
The best care
The Drug and Alcohol Testing Consortium program is designed for independent CDL operators with their own Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) authority, granted by the Department of Transportation (DOT), or a company with many more CDL drivers or covered employees.
Owner Operator Drug Tests
In addition to enrolling in a drug consortium pool, owner operators must complete the following drug tests to stay DOT compliant. Required drug testing includes:
Pre Employment Testing
Though owner operators aren’t technically hired, they still must go through the same pre employment drug testing as potential employees. Sidhu Chiropractic helps owner operators complete this mandatory step by providing fast test result turnaround times.
Post Accident Testing
DOT regulations require that any owner operator involved in an accident that results in a death or moving violation citation must submit to a test for the presence of drugs and alcohol. Following an accident, every client is provided with detailed instructions regarding DOT protocols for breath alcohol and urinalysis testing.
Random Selection Testing
To remain compliant, both transportation company employees and owner operators must be randomly selected from the consortium pool and tested for recent drug use. Enrollment in Consortium program guarantees that drivers are randomly chosen using DOT-approved, scientifically-valid methods and immediately notified when they have been selected.
